A Confident Man Walking up a snowing hillside when will she decide pass by a rusting old sedan if she can’t see me for who I am is that what’s to become of me Off in the distance I hear the laughter of lovers I'm sick of being one of the others what is it like to feel a love when it’s for real what’s to become of me I stood by for so long should I make my move will she think its wrong what if she says yes but what if she says no oh no no no All that I’m gonna need is for her to take the lead a couple light taps on her front door a confident man would knock a little more but that’s just not me
2.
When Will You Be Home Bright yellow light beats down on my brow I want I want I want you now Sky turns to that darker shade of blue Come back Come back please make it soon Where will you go? When will you be coming home? Where will you go? When will you be coming home? Orange glow swallows you as you walk away I run right behind crying please stay White stars separated by black Please call, tell me when you’ll be back Where will you go? When will you be coming home? Where will you go? When will you be coming home? I see the red of dawn’s first light I know it’s gonna be alright

about

We’ve got another entry in our collection of new/old songs! The “A” side of the single is a droney number called A Confident Man. We wrote it and made a 4-track demo twenty years ago but couldn’t figure out what to do with it after that. This new version has it all, from feedback to rubber spatulas.

The “B” side is When Will You Be Home?, from the same 2005 recording session as Paulina. We join our younger selves again for this track. Young Dann and Brian contributed vocals and keyboards, along with our friend Donnie Briggs on vocals and guitar. Present-day Brian, Dann and Mike overdubbed the rest of the instruments. No assistance from AI needed.

Enjoy!
